Let Coastal Therapy Services help relieve your bladder, bowel and pelvic pain issues.

Years ago, I knew I had a passion for helping those with pelvic pain and bladder/bowel issues.  In 2009, I opened Coastal Therapy Services specializing in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy for both men and women. Most people don't even know that there is conservative help, but those who find their way to me are rewarded with positive changes that allow them to get back to living more fully, not having to worry as much about leaks, urges and pain. 

Coastal Therapy Services is the only practice in Brunswick County, NC that treats men and women with bladder, bowel and pelvic pain issues.  Patients are either self-referred (no doctor referral is needed)  or are referred from urologists, gynecologists, gastroenterologists, pain medicine specialists, primary care physicians, chiropractors and other therapists.  While many patients are referred from medical providers, no referral is necessary. 

I find great joy in hearing about the progress of my patients.  I love to hear, for example, that "I went to the grocery store without using the restroom while I was out, " or "I played with my grandkids and didn't leak" or "I was able to sit for the 3 hour car ride without my usual tailbone pain." 

My specific training has helped me to understand that there is much more to treating the pelvic floor than just Kegels.  There are definitely times where pelvic floor muscle strengthening is indicated, but quite often, patients are helped by calming the pelvic muscles with hands-on manual therapy and other strategies.  Individualized treatment programs are designed for each patient. 

Each person has their own story that needs to be heard.   I treat each patient as an individual and work with each patient to help meet his/her personal goals.  

What to Expect:   Each evaluation will be about 1.5 hours long.  There is a lot on information to cover and treatment will start on the same day.   Each subsequent visit will be no longer than an hour.  Visits are generally once per week, or less often, depending on individual needs.
