Education is a big part of treatment. Knowledge is power! Education includes, but is not limited to the anatomy of the pelvic region, normal bladder and bowel habits, how to control urges, how to improve sleeping habits, etc.
Gentle hands-on manual techniques including Myofascial Release (John Barnes approach), Craniosacral Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques and others are used to improve soft tissue mobility,, restore function and to reduce pain.
Electromyography (EMG) is a conservative way to measure the activity of the pelvic floor muscles. EMG can tell us if you are using the right muscles, about the quality of the pelvic floor muscle contraction, and if you can appropriately relax the pelvic floor muscles.
Exercise may include stretches to relieve tension or others to improve strength and coordination of the pelvic floor muscles, legs and core.
Don't live with these issues any longer. They are NOT normal! Help is here!
Bladder, Bowel and Pelvic pain issues often change how we live. Peace of mind and confidence are typical outcomes of Pelvic PT.
Live Confidently!
